It is almost impossible to find a girls hockey camp or training program. All of the ones we have found are in another state. Our daughter refuses to do co-ed hockey in any format, so we were at a loss as to where we could get her on the ice to practice, improve and learn new skills. We were so excited when we heard about S3 two years ago. Our daughter loves the program, so much so she is willing to get up really early and be in the car for 35-45 minutes (one way).
S3 provides a safe, supportive and fun environment for girls to practice their skills while learning new ones, as well as building their confidence as athletes and hockey players. We wish there were more opportunities in our area for all girls hockey camp / skills development, and hope S3 can will be able to continue to expand their program (camp or skills development) around the Boston area.

I would strongly recommend the S3 Hockey Development program. My daughter had an amazing time meeting other girls who share the live of hockey. The coaches were great also!!!! We will definitely sign up for next year.

Marisa has come out multiple times to conduct skills sessions for our girls U8 team. The girls loved it and could not stop talking about it.

U8 Coach
We have worked with Coach Raspa on ice hockey development for over three years. Her on ice resume is excellent, as she played the highest level of women's competition, from youth AAA, to NCAA Division 1, to the Professional level. She continually pushes her students to work on skills, not just to be proficient but to strive and aspire for being better. Marisa gets her students to perform outside their comfort zones through various techniques. She is able to build a wonderful rapport with clients that goes beyond the ice. Whether it is questions about playing, recruiting, or just everyday questions, she is always willing to listen and help guide to an appropriate answer. We value her expertise and are fortunate to have her guiding us on the youth sports journey.

My daughter and her teammates have been fortunate enough to take lessons with Marisa over the past few years. Marisa establishes an excellent environment for growth and development individualized to each player. Her attention to detail of specific skill sets during training, on and off the ice, provide ample opportunities of continuing improvement for players of any age.

When I started playing on my first tier 1 team, my coach told me to consider taking private lessons with a girl who was playing ice hockey for RPI. I was very nervous to start skating one-on-one with Marisa Raspa because I knew I had very little legitimate coaching and I was going to be a lot of work, but Raspa changed my life. I skated twice a week all summer for three years with Marisa, and only stopped because she moved to Boston. I went from being a very slow, clumsy, inefficient player to being a starting defensemen on a top ten New England Prep team. Marisa literally took apart and reconstructed my stride, my shot, and my defensive body position, fundamentally changing my game for the better. Raspa totally transformed me as a player, but also helped me grow and mature as a person. After skating with Marisa, my confidence on the ice and in everyday life skyrocketed. Beyond just skills, she taught me to love coming to practice. She made me want to get better; Raspa has so much love for the sport that it was contagious. Marisa has always been there for me for anything from helping with college recruitment to her DMing me drills to work on off Instagram. For the past three years, she has supported me through everything, and become one of my biggest role models on and off the ice. I can safely say she is one of the only reasons I have the opportunity to play college hockey next year at Bowdoin College. Marisa has helped me more than words can describe, and I hope, someday, I can change someone’s life as much as she has changed mine.

I’ve played hockey for about 10 years now and have tons of lessons, with many different instructors, but Marisa has by far been my favorite. She has pushed me to become a better hockey player not only with my mental state but with my physical state as well. I met with her almost every other day of the week during the summer and by the end of the summer I saw a drastic change in my skills as a hockey player. Raspa has also become a mentor to me; her work ethic and positive attitude are extremely contagious. Overall, Marisa has pushed me to be a more skilled hockey player and person over the few years I have known her.
